Math Monthly Terms and Conditions
Website access, memberships, purchases, publications, and live participation.
Last updated: October 15, 2026
1. Agreement and Purpose
These terms apply to Math Monthly at MathMonthly.com, including its memberships, digital materials, live sessions, and physical publications. By purchasing or participating, you agree to the applicable terms presented before your purchase.
Math Monthly, created by Author Jonathan David, helps adult learners and college students understand the full circle of mathematics: learning concepts, connecting ideas, developing solutions, and verifying that those solutions satisfy the original problem.
The goal is to help students develop independent mathematical ability and become employable before graduation, alongside building a résumé, communicating their work, developing projects, and preparing to demonstrate their skills to employers.
2. Independent Learning and Academic Integrity
A central objective is helping adults rebuild understanding and confidence after relying on outside answers instead of developing their own reasoning. This includes addressing learning gaps caused by misusing AI tools, Khan Academy, Wyzant tutoring, teacher solution manuals, or similar resources to bypass independent work. These resources have different purposes; whether a particular use is permitted depends on the assignment and your institution’s rules.
You are responsible for understanding and following your school’s code of conduct, course policies, collaboration rules, citation requirements, and restrictions on outside assistance. Math Monthly does not authorize conduct prohibited by your instructor or institution.
I do not complete homework, quizzes, or exams, or answer individual problems you submit. Request broader concepts and methods. I select the examples used in lessons and podcasts. Do not submit confidential assessments, restricted answer keys, or material you lack permission to share.
3. Membership Benefits
Your benefits depend on the membership selected and the description shown at checkout:
- Digital Access: Full access to video lessons and accompanying written lessons while your membership is active, plus member topic requests.
- Live Zoom Lessons: Access to live Zoom sessions for questions, discussions, lessons, and participation in the writing process, as described for that tier.
- Math Monthly: Digital Access, Live Zoom Lessons, and a monthly textbook-sized hardcover volume mailed to you, as described for that tier.
Membership access is personal and does not transfer ownership of the content. Access begins following successful payment and account activation.
4. Payments, Renewals, and Cancellation
Prices, billing frequency, applicable charges, and whether a purchase renews automatically are displayed at checkout. For a recurring membership, you authorize recurring charges at the disclosed rate and interval until you cancel.
You may cancel at any time through the cancellation option in your membership account. Cancel before your next renewal is processed to prevent that renewal charge. Deleting Zoom, leaving a session, or stopping use of the website does not cancel your subscription.
Cancellation stops future renewals. The cancellation screen or confirmation will explain when your access ends. If you encounter a cancellation problem, use the contact option on MathMonthly.com promptly.
5. All Sales Final and Refund Policy
All sales and purchases are final. Membership payments are non-refundable, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Cancellation does not create a refund for a payment already processed.
No voluntary refunds or prorated credits are provided for unused access, missed sessions, failure to participate, or a change of mind. Review the membership benefits and flexible live schedule before purchasing.
This policy does not remove rights concerning unauthorized or duplicate charges, defective or undelivered goods, services not supplied as agreed, or other remedies required by applicable law. Contact Math Monthly promptly about a billing or fulfillment problem.
6. Live Schedule and Meeting Links
There is no fixed live schedule. You join when I am online. I usually stream for a few hours in the morning, afternoon, and evening Monday through Friday, and usually on Sundays. This describes my typical routine, not a promise of particular hours, daily sessions, or a minimum number of sessions.
Availability may vary because of writing, production, personal obligations, illness, technical issues, or other circumstances. Live access is not a private appointment or guaranteed immediate response.
A new meeting link is published each time I go live. Stay logged in and visit the Zoom link page for the current link.
Current Zoom Link7. Online Participation, Streaming, and Privacy
Zoom sessions take place over the internet and may occur while I am recording or publicly streaming my work. Participate at your discretion. My intended broadcast setup focuses on my own presentation and does not intentionally show participants’ camera feeds publicly. However, complete anonymity or protection against accidental exposure cannot be guaranteed.
Your voice, display name, chat messages, questions, or shared content may be visible or audible to others and may enter a recording, stream, transcript, or publication. Turning off your camera does not hide your voice, name, or messages.
- Keep your camera off if you do not want your image visible to other participants.
- Stay muted until you choose to speak.
- Use a non-identifying display name when appropriate and notify the host privately if membership verification is needed.
- Do not share addresses, student IDs, passwords, financial details, private documents, or other sensitive information.
- Review recording notices and privacy settings. Leave the session if you do not consent to the announced recording or streaming conditions.
Recording and publication will remain subject to applicable notice and consent requirements. These terms do not replace legally required consent. Zoom and any streaming services also operate under their own terms and privacy policies.
8. Questions and Topic Requests
Member lesson and podcast requests are covered in the order received. Submit one request at a time and wait until your current topic has been covered before submitting another. No specific completion date is promised.
Requests must fit the purpose of Math Monthly. I may decline requests involving academic misconduct, confidential material, harassment, unlawful activity, or subjects outside the scope of the service. Live questions are addressed as time and the session’s topic allow.
9. Monthly Books and AI-Assisted Transcripts
For memberships that include physical delivery, each monthly hardcover volume consolidates that month’s podcast transcripts, math and physics lessons, and other written material. Topics, length, and page count vary with the month’s work.
Podcast transcripts are based on my original spoken words. AI assists with cleanup, punctuation, grammar, and restructuring for readability. Transcription and editing errors may occur, and a transcript may differ in presentation from the recording.
Monthly books require completion, preparation, printing, and shipping after the material is produced. Monthly delivery does not mean arrival on a fixed calendar date. Production or carrier delays may occur.
10. Mailing Information and Publication Credit
Provide an accurate shipping address and keep it current. Shipping eligibility, charges, and any geographic restrictions are those disclosed before purchase. Report damaged, missing, or incorrect shipments promptly so the issue can be reviewed.
Math Monthly hardcover members receive research participant credit. Live Zoom members may request research assistant credit. Provide the exact name you want printed, and notify me before publication if you wish to omit your name or change a credit.
Providing a name for publication authorizes its inclusion in the applicable book. Printed copies already produced cannot be recalled or changed. These acknowledgments recognize participation; they do not create employment, academic credentials, authorship, ownership, or a formal institutional research appointment.
11. Conduct and Account Security
Keep your account credentials, meeting links, and passcodes private. Only you may use your membership to attend sessions. Do not share access, distribute links, invite unauthorized guests, or record other participants without permission.
Harassment, threats, disruptive behavior, academic misconduct, unauthorized distribution, or access sharing may result in removal from a session, suspension, or cancellation of membership. Any refund decision remains subject to applicable law. If membership is terminated, future recurring billing will be stopped.
12. Content Ownership and Contributions
Math Monthly’s original books, lessons, recordings, transcripts, and website materials remain the property of their respective rights holders. Your membership permits personal use. Do not redistribute, resell, publicly upload, or share restricted materials without permission, except as applicable law allows.
You retain rights in your original contributions. When you knowingly submit a question or contribution for inclusion in a lesson, stream, transcript, or book, you permit Math Monthly to reproduce and edit it for that purpose, subject to applicable consent requirements. Do not contribute material you lack permission to share.
13. Educational Scope and Outcomes
Math Monthly provides independent educational content, discussion, and mentorship based on the author’s experience. It is not an accredited institution, degree program, employment agency, or substitute for your institution’s instruction and requirements.
Employment before graduation is a goal, not a guarantee. No particular grade, examination result, degree completion, job offer, income, or other outcome is promised. You remain responsible for your decisions, independent work, and verification of material. General discussions do not establish a licensed legal, medical, financial, or other professional advisory relationship.
14. Technical Availability and Liability
You are responsible for a compatible device, internet connection, and any software needed to participate. Website, payment, video, and shipping services may experience interruptions. Math Monthly does not promise uninterrupted or error-free access, but this does not excuse failure to provide purchased benefits as required by law.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Math Monthly and Author Jonathan David are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or other protected claims.
15. Eligibility, Updates, and Contact
Math Monthly is intended for adult learners. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must authorize your participation and manage any purchase where required. Some discussions or publications may contain mature language or topics.
These terms may be updated prospectively. Material changes affecting an existing paid membership will be communicated before they take effect, with any notice or consent required by law. Updates do not retroactively remove rights relating to earlier purchases.
